Treehenge

What is Treehenge?
Help tend the garden that feeds us
Situated at Gladfield in Queensland’s Condamine Basin, one of the state’s food baskets, the location was chosen for its heavy degradation and erosion from years of intensive land use. Its prime position at the headwaters of the Murray-Darling river system also means the good work we do will have a flow on effect to other states.
Dedicate a tree and you’ll help a region grow
Only trees native to the region will be planted at Treehenge, in an effort to nourish and replenish the soil. By dedicating a tree in Treehenge, you will be contributing to the restoration of native flora and fauna to the region.
It’s a special place where memories come alive
It’s a place where life events and milestones can be remembered and celebrated and where these memories can be shared with friends and family. For weddings, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, deaths, special accomplishments or milestones, a tree at Treehenge is a thoughtful gift that can mean the world to someone you hold close.
Where life once was, life will return
After years of land clearing and with many introduced species, some of the region’s native animals have become endangered. By returning balance to the ecosystem, many of these will return, giving them a home and a place to breed. Treehenge will work with Rangers in creating sustainable education programs and strategies.
The shape of things to come
Treehenge is a special place where memories become entwined with nature. Its interlocking shape represents the cycle of life, drawing from Celtic eternity knots and the spiritual nature of ancient henges. We’ve made it big enough for people to see the good work we’re doing and so they can see how they can make a difference. When fully grown, it will be visible from the air and on Google Maps.
A gift that you can share
When you dedicate a Treehenge tree, a tree will be planted in their honour in the Henge and the recipient is gifted a dedication certificate and a Tree Plaque, a special digital profile where friends and family can share comments, photos, and videos online. These can be shared with others on Facebook or kept private for those in your immediate family or circle of friends.
